Baseline Survey of for “Income Generation of Coastal Shrimp Farmer through Improved Shrimp Culture Practice and Marketing” titled value chain development sub-project under PACE project.

The PACE project, funded by PKSF and IFAD, aims to improve livelihoods in Bangladesh through enhanced income and food security. The baseline survey revealed challenges, including limited biosecurity (17%), irregular feed use (64%), and inadequate water testing (72%). Semi-intensive farms are more productive (4,890 kg/hectare) than traditional farms (303 kg/hectare), but disease risks, falling shrimp prices, and limited technical support hinder progress.
